Please bring comfortable walking shoes or joggers if you are required to have an Exercise Stress Test. For heart monitors, loose fitting clothing is advisable. Please review the information about your specific test outlined in our Tests section.
For your convenience, please fill out the Patient Information Form and bring it with you to your appointment.
It is essential you bring a current referral from your family doctor.
Please note that in order to be eligible for a Medicare Rebate, a valid referral is required. Generally, referrals from general practitioners are valid for 12 months, and those from specialists/physicians are valid for 3 months only. Please ensure your referral is up to date.
If you need to cancel an appointment we will require at least 24 hours’ notice in order to offer the appointment to someone else.
No Show Policy
As a courtesy to other patients who need to see the doctor urgently, please confirm your attendance at least three days prior to your scheduled appointment.
If you are unable to confirm your appointment, or our staff cannot contact you to confirm, another patient in need will be given your scheduled appointment.
Cancellation or failure to confirm often translates to a lengthy delay in seeing a Cardiologist due to the busy nature of our practice.
Port Macquarie Cardiology is committed to providing the highest quality of specialist cardiology care. Our fees are lower than that recommended by the Australian Medical Association for specialty cardiology services. We are not a Bulk Billing Practice, however, Pensioners, Veterans and Health Care Card Holders are eligible for a concession. Please ask at reception when booking your test.
