A Cardiac Ultrasound provides visual images and video clips of the heart that assist with examination of cardiac function.
During this procedure, electrodes are positioned on the patient’s chest to record an electrocardiogram. A Cardiac Technician performs an ultrasound on the patient’s chest to assess the cardiac size and function and detect, diagnose and exclude heart conditions.
A Cardiologist then analyses the Cardiac Ultrasound and reports on the findings, with the results available on the same day.
