During this procedure, electrodes are positioned on the patient’s chest to record an electrocardiogram. A Cardiac Technician performs an ultrasound on the patient’s chest to assess the cardiac size and function and detect, diagnose and exclude heart conditions.
A Cardiologist then analyses the Cardiac Ultrasound and reports on the findings, with the results available on the same day.
What to bring/what to wear
- Women should wear comfortable, two-piece clothing as it is necessary to remove clothing from the upper body to perform the test.
- A gown or sheet will be provided for comfort and privacy.
